Obituary of Robert Griffin

Robert E. Griffin, 76, longtime resident of Windsor, CT, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011. He was born in Hartford, son of the late George and Audrey (Brown) Griffin. Bob worked many years as a bartender at the Hartford Hilton and later at the Bushnell Theater. Before retirement he also worked for a few years as a home health aid. Bob loved life and all it had to offer. He had a passion for live theater and often told stories about the many actors he'd seen perform and the ones he had even met. He was a fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and vacations in Cape Cod. Bob was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Patricia and John Carroll, as well as life-long friend Frank Betancourth. He is survived by three nieces; Deborah Carroll of Rocky Hill, Mary DelCiampo and husband Joseph of Wethersfield and Amy Blackwell and husband Jeff of New Hampshire. He also leaves two nephews; John Carroll and wife Doe of Old Lyme and Stephen Carroll and wife Elaine of Andover. Bob is also survived by 10 grandnieces and grandnephews, several cousins and dear friends on Mack Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday Dec. 13, at 10am in the Church of the Incarnation, Prospect St., Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
