Thanks Mr. Lawson for being there for me when I was just a kid at a fraternity house with your son (Ryan). Mr. Lawson was in town and saw that I was struggling with making a tie. I was embarrassed about it but Mr. Lawson noticed my problems and volunteered to help me out. Thanks and thoughts and prayers for the Lawson family. You will be missed.

When I was 29 years old I decided I wanted to work as an insurance adjuster. I zero experience. My first job was with a insurance company named American Mutual and I was hired to work in the Lafayette Louisiana office. I met my supervisor on the second day of the job. His name is Pat Lawson. He was the most intelligent, compassionate, and a man with never ending patience. I am now 62 years old and still working as an insurance adjuster. Pat was my mentor but on that first visit he also became my friend for life. I will never forget you Pat. Thanks for everything you did for me. Roger Leger

Pat Lawson was my friend for almost 50 years; going back to sometime in 1962.
I had met his daddy "Big Jim Lawson" the summer before when we worked together at a Texaco gas station: "Big Jim" had just moved his family from Mississippi, and was training to run his own gas station. Then I met Pat in high school that fall.
Lot of shared history in 50 years: high school, college, each
other's weddings...start new careers. He became a parent and I became a godparent. We boated and fished together with my father, and more often, his father( while we still had them). We fished a lot together after then too.
Pat was, like his daddy, a consummate sports fan, so I ended up watching more football, basketball, and baseball games with Pat than I would ever have on my own. I never did really become a "fan", but the time spent at the games and watching on TV was second best only to time we spent fishing! We did a lot of things together, helped each other out together, and sometimes got into trouble together (like being fishing when his son was on his way)!
He was a good friend, a good husband and father, a Marine and a good man. He will be missed by many.

I had the good fortune to meet Mr. Lawson on a couple of occasions. Once that the family is aware of was at Ryan and Denise's wedding. Mr. Lawson was a joy to be around. My favorite memory was while I was at the University with Ryan. Everyone wore a coat and tie to the football games. I was stumped when it came to making a tie. Mr. Lawson was in town and he took me to the side and took mercy on me. He said, "let me help you." Thank you Mr. Lawson for being there for me. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers, Jason
