Obituary of Sylvia Whittles

Sylvia (Bleezarde) Whittles, 78, of Glastonbury, died Thursday August 7, 2014 at Hartford Hospital. Born September 14, 1935 in Albany, NY, daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret (Logan) Bleezarde, she had lived in Glastonbury for many years. Prior to her retirement she was a graphic designer for the Glastonbury Citizen for 20 years. A loving mother, grandmother and friend, she will be dearly missed. She will be remembered for her zest for life and her love of soaking up the sun in the Caribbean. Sylvia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Glenn and Stacie Whittles of South Glastonbury, two daughters, Laura Whittles and her fiancé Gil Ouellette of Willimantic and Pamela Whittles of NY, a sister Gloria Bleezarde-Levister of Portugal, six grandchildren, Tiffany, Christina, Nicholas, Carter, Emily and Megan and three great grandchildren Antwane, Lyla and Macy. A memorial service will be held Wednesday August 13 at 11am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
