Missie Bentivegna Frame posted a condolence

As your only sister, the chosen one that was picked to be there and watch you grow from little boy to man, and know all the great things you wanted in life, achieved in life, and enjoyed in life...I watched you attempt, fail, and succeed. You were there to love me, beat me, and cry with me when we were young. We mostly disliked each other as teenagers -- I kept mixing in with your friends, you kept mixing in with mine, and we didn't like it. We came together and rounded up as friends amongst those people. We still found time to hate each other, love each other, and come together and keep our family together. As the years went by, we continued on that same path, but always with the underlying love. We spent so much time defending our split parents and their ways, never in the same cycle. And through it all...you grew, I grew. I know your pride of my life. I could never cover all the words of pride of your life. With you gone, I cannot express the words that will justify this loss. I keep telling myself that God needs you more than I do. More than my nieces do. I love you Jaybird. You are always with me. You are always with Bobeth. We love you more than words can say.

To Jay's family - I have known Jay for many years working together at Toro and of course, having the same name. Jay was a true gentleman and a terrific person--always with a smile on his face and willing to help. I always enjoyed our chats and time together and yet, I was unaware he was sick. I was very saddened to hear of his loss and I offer all his family my sincere and heartfelt condolences. May you find peace and comfort in the memories you will cherish.

I meet Jay during one of his trips to Europe, training people for NSN. We had immediately a wonderful feeling, as he was a really nice, and professional person. May Jay have same feeling in Heaven. Sincere condolence to the family.

You don't know me, but I wanted to give my deepest sympathies to Jay's family. I didn't even know that Jay had been sick, so this news comes as such a shock. I only had the opportunity to work with Jay a few times throughout my career with Toro and that is when he came to Minneapolis, MN to train our superintendents on the latest irrigation software. He was always very patient and kind to everyone he met (his students and our staff alike). He always came to Mpls. with a smile on his face and a story of the latest family antics (I believe you were all locked out of the house a few years ago while he was out of town). He was a proud husband and father and that was evident. I cannot imagine the pain you are all going through and I am so, so sorry for your loss. May God comfort you through your grief.

I have so many memories of our antics in Florida. So many group dinners, customer trips, and nights spent on Matts deck enjoying a bottle of wine. I always had a great time when we got together and I am so sad that those times are over. May God bless June, Rachel, and Catherine and the multitudes of friends who will grieve your absence. You will be sorely missed my friend.

Dear June and girls, It was with great shock that we heard about Jay"s illness and passing. It brought up many fond memories of you guys as neighbors. Remember the first year Jay put poinsettias on the outside steps for Christmas?,, He was always excited to talk about taking the girls apple picking or sledding. We still refer to the house as Jay and Junes house. We send you hugs and prayers and sorrow for your sadness

Dear June, Rachael and Catherine, our deepest condolences for the loss of your husband and a great father. Jay lives in your heart, memories, and spirit. We will always remember him for his great personality and good sense of humor. Mostly, because he was so generous with his time with our soccer team coaching all the girls and inspiring them to be at their best. Keep your spirit strong and courageous as your father did during this very challenging time. Darin, Adriana, AJ and Sammy McCormick

Jay, you were a great friend for over 30 years. Even though we lived on opposite sides of the country and were not able to see each other often, I'm so glad we kept in touch. Your whole family was a second family to me and you were definitely like a brother. I will miss you so much - you are in my heart always.

Hey Jay. Every time I think of you, I get a smile on my face. I remember the first time we met you. We always had good times at Some Place Else. We plan on having more good times and lots of parties when we again meet at some place else. We will have lots of catching up to do. To your family, we can only tell them that we, too, feel the sadness in your leaving. May we all feel the joy and happiness we felt when you would walk in the door, say hello and have that silly grin on your face. Till we meet again Jaybird...
