Obituary of Helen McCue
Helen Mikolkas McCue, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, January, 30, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born December 6, 1917 in New Britain, CT the daughter of the late Konstin and Margaret Mikolkas. She lived in East Granby until marrying her husband Thomas A McCue, then made her home in Old Wethersfield until 2012 when she moved to South Glastonbury to live with her daughter Julie and John Lord. After graduating Simsbury High School and attending Hartford Secretarial School, she worked for Pratt Whitney in purchasing until she became a full time home maker. She was also a silent partner in The Gallery banquet facility, Glastonbury, CT. She was devoted to and cherished spending time with her family as a true matriarch. She loved Dachshund dogs having them for over fifty years. Her last Dachshund, Bella, was a faithful companion to the end. Her mind was still sharp, she could still win at the card game "setback" with the family. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas McCue in 1988 and her brother, Konstin Edward Mikolkas, Jr. in 1935 and son in law Edward Marshall. A loving Mother, she will be dearly missed by her four beautiful children: Pamela McCue of Glastonbury, Kimberly McCue Prout and her husband Stephen Prout of Rocky Hill, Juliet McCue Lord and her husband John Lord of South Glastonbury, and Konstin McCue and partner Sue-Anne Ohanian of Wethersfield; eight grandchildren: Edward Marshall and wife Jamie; Samantha Prout Warner and husband Chester; Jon, Robert, Trevor and Alexander Lord; Thomas and Katie McCue. She also leaves a special cousin Dolores Garofalo of Old Lyme; special friends Nancy and Robert Lord, Mary and William Mazzara; sisters in law Lois Waters and Judith McCue; and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours are Tuesday February 3, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 am at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, CT followed by 12:30 p.m. Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 47 Hartford Avenue, Old Wethersfield.
