Obituary of Nancy Davis

Nancy G. Davis, 82, of Glastonbury CT., passed away peacefully on February 20, 2015. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Davis, who predeceased her in April 2014. Born April 7, 1932, in North Adams, Mass., she was the only child of Walter and Catherine (Connors) Gould. She was raised in Williamstown, Mass., graduating from Williamstown High School and The College of New Rochelle. Following graduation, she was employed by Sprague Electric until her marriage to Nick on December 27, 1955. After the completion of Nick's Air Force service, they settled in North Adams until moving to Glastonbury in 1972. She was employed by the Glastonbury Board of Education, managing the library at Naubuc School until her retirement. She is survived by her children Kim (Jeff) Green of Monroe, CT., Robin (Ron) Daigle of West Suffield CT., Allan (Tiffany) Davis of Lamoine ME., and Matthew (Cathy) Davis of Fairfield CT. In addition, she leaves her grandchildren Erin and Riley Green, Taylor and Courtney Daigle, Olivia, Violet, Connor, Christian, and Lauren Davis, and Nicole (Jennifer) McDaigle, as well as her son in law Frank Hagaman. She was predeceased by her son Kirk (June 2011).She was a faithful member of St. Augustine's Church in South Glastonbury. An avid golfer, she was a longtime member of the Glastonbury Hills Country Club as well as a past member of the Manchester Country Club. In both 2004 and 2008 she won the Legends Championship of the Connecticut Women's Golf Association. In addition to golf, Nancy was an enthusiastic follower of the NFL, as well as Colgate University and local high school teams. She loved to cook and entertain, as she and Nick hosted many gatherings and celebrations at their home. Her passion for Jeopardy was well known within the family as well as her love of reading and knowledge. The Family would like to thank the staff of the Palliative Care and Hospice Services of CB2 at Hartford Hospital for the compassionate and respectful care they provided during Nancy's last days. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday Feb. 26, at 11am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. There are no calling hours.
