Obituary of Patricia Gagnon

Patricia (Pat) Gagnon, 76, passed away peacefully March 2, 2015. Pat was born October 21,1938 in Hartford, was a graduate of Bulkeley High School Class of 1957. She worked for Hartford Electric Light and for the family business, Capitol Moving & Storage in South Windsor. She married Richard in 1961 and made Glastonbury their lifelong home. Pat was a rare spark of life, a blessing; a brightness on this earth. Her huge heart and relentlessly positive spirit made the world a happier place. She was a gracious, warm and genuine woman whose focus forever was on those around her. Always one to help; be it family, friend or stranger, Pat could always be counted on to lend a hand or an ear to listen. She was vibrant, fun-loving, stubborn, and downright sassy at times. She made caring for loved ones her life her reason for being. Pat was a volunteer member of FISH (Friends in Service Helping Group). She crocheted over three hundred and fifty blankets for the Saint Francis Children's unit. Family, (her husband, children, and grandchildren), were her every breath, her every light, caring for them deeply from her heart and soul. She was the center of their universe and all were warmed by the goodness she radiated. She had many friends from all stages of her life, among those are: her sister best friend, Bonnie and her dearest friends (the Glastonbury Girls), Joan , Margaret and Francine. Pat leaves her friends knowing they were truly loved. Her spirit is carried on by her adoring husband of 53 years, Richard Gagnon, her four children and their spouses, Mark, Karen and Michael Lonergan of Glastonbury, Lynn and David LeBlanc of Colchester, and Laura and Michael Blessing of Avon, her grandchildren Samantha, Peter, Maura, Marissa, Julia, Daniel and Kelly. In addition, Pat is survived by her sisters, Bonnie and husband Jim Rice of Rocky Hill, Janice Mastropasqua and her husband Frank of East Hartford as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Frederic and Marjorie Barber. The family would like to thank all of her friends who have comforted her with their visits since her stroke and the kind personnel who cared for her at Emeritus Buckingham in Glastonbury. A wake will be held at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury from 4:00 to 8:00 on Wednesday March 4 and a Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Pat's life will be held Thursday March 5 at 10AM at St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd, Glastonbury followed by internment at Holy Cross Cemetery on Hebron Avenue.
