Obituary of Robert Dunphy

Robert K. Dunphy, 69, of East Hartford, died Sunday March 1, 2015 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born July 23, 1945 in Hartford, son of the late Merle L. Dunphy and Frances Lielasus, he was a lifelong resident of East Hartford. He graduated from East Hartford High School in1964. Bob worked at Aetna in Data Processing, was employed by the Town of East Hartford at the East Hartford Public Golf Course for several years and was co-owner with Gary D'Alesandro, The Eatery Restaurant in Vernon for several years. Bob enjoyed cooking and entertaining. He loved the Christmas holidays and constructed a beautiful large Christmas village in miniature which was enjoyed by everyone who saw it. Bob is survived by 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Bonnie Wade of East Hartford, Pamela and John Boothroyd of Manchester, a niece, Barbara LeGrande and her family of Hartford, Joshua Johnson, Sara Coniam and their children, Summer and Hunter and Zachary Johnson, a niece Deborah Morin and her family, Hannah R. Morin and Jason W. Morin all of Manchester. Extended family, Patricia Wade Gately and her family of East Hartford, Shaun and Tricia Gately and familyof South Windsor, and Noelle Gately Miano and her family of Rocky Hill. He is also survived by very special family friend Teri Leonitis of Tolland. Bob will be missed by his furry special companion Benji. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his step father Joseph Lielasus, a nephew John Boothroyd, Jr. and a brother-in-law William J. Wade, Sr. Funeral service will be Friday March 6, at 11am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday March 5 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
