Obituary of Ruth Kaminski
Ruth (Uras) Kaminski of Glastonbury passed away Wednesday, March 25, at Hartford Hospital with her family at her side. She was born in Hartford on April 3, 1925, the daughter of the late Joseph Uras and Mary (Uras) Victorick. She was a 1942 graduate of Hartford Public High School and worked at Aetna before retiring in 1987. She loved her close-knit family and was there to help whenever needed. She did not let her struggle with Parkinson's disease in her later years prevent her from enjoying what she could. She and her husband were avid Whalers, Red Sox, and UCONN basketball fans and traveled to Maine and Maryland frequently to visit family. She is survived by her two devoted children and their spouses: Carol and Peter Kiebish and Robert and Carol Kaminski; loving grandsons Joseph Kiebish, Michael Kiebish and his wife Christina; two adored great-granddaughters, Haley and Emily; and several nephews, nieces, and cousins. She also leaves many friends amongst the staff and residents at Mountain Laurel and Glastonbury Health Center. She was predeceased last year by her husband of 67 years, Joseph Kaminski; brother George Uras and his wife Mae; brother Edward; and her mother who lived with the family for many years. She was the last of her generation and will be greatly missed. The family sincerely thanks the staff at Mountain Laurel and Glastonbury Health Care Center for their care, friendship, and support for seven years in helping Ruth enjoy life even as her health declined. They also thank the Palliative Care staff at Hartford Hospital for their help. Calling hours will be Sunday March 29 at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury from 4-6pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday March 30 at 10 am at St. Augustine Church, South Glastonbury, followed by burial in St. Augustine Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Glastonbury Health Care Center, Resident Recreation Fund (VIP Program), 1175 Hebron Ave, Glastonbury, CT. 06033 or a charity of your choice.
