Obituary of Desiree Chapman
Desiree Lee Chapman, 28, of Coventry, formerly of Marlborough, beloved mother of Elizabeth Chapman, of Marlborough, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2012, with her family by her side at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown. She was the daughter of Debra Lee Chapman, of Marlborough, and Donald and Debbie Chapman, of Marlborough. She is also survived by her grandfather, Phil Naples of Glastonbury and her sisters and brothers, Stacy Lynn Preneta of Marlborough, Scott Thayer and his wife Natalie of Manchester, Andrea Chapman, Dominique Chapman, David Chapman, Daniel Chapman, Rachel Chapman, Khalia Elton and Katherine Elton all of Marlborough. She also leaves several aunts, uncles and nieces. Desi was a graduate of Windham Technical High School in 2001, where her main focus was Culinary and played for the varsity basketball team. While attending Rham Middle School she became the first female wrestler on the boy's wrestling team. She also enjoyed playing softball and basketball on the rec league while her father coached. Desi enjoyed singing and dancing around with her daughter Liz, also boating and tubing at Gardner's Lake prior to her accident in 2001. For the last 11 years she enjoyed watching her daughter Liz grow into a super young lady. We would like to express a special thank you to all of Desiree's caregivers, doctors, therapists, friends and families that helped her the last 11 years. Funeral service will be Monday Jan 30 at 9:00am from the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in the Church of the Holy Family, Church St., Hebron. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, South Glastonbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, Jan. 29 from 4-7pm.
