Dear family – Sharon Scannell just informed me yesterday of this sad news. Our deepest sympathies and heartfelt thoughts go out to you all on this difficult day. I have spent yesterday and today fondly recalling all the times we visiting your house in E. Hartford when we were all kids, how we were always so welcome there, and how much I looked forward to those trips because we always had so much fun!! I am very grateful for the chance to have seen Jeff and many others at the Mulligan family reunion last June. All of us have no doubt experienced the exceptional grief that comes with the passing of someone before their time. What I’ve tried to do in such instances is to make a concerted effort to recall (and recall well) those qualities that made that person uniquely them: the sound of their voice, their delightful idiosyncrasies, their ‘famous’ sayings, the people and passions that they surrounded themselves with when they were most comfortable, happy, themselves. By doing this you will have at your ready disposal a rich and delightful collection of loving memories that will bolster you and bring you no small amount of joy when your thoughts inevitably turn to Jeff while you continue on your own journey. Love to you all – The Rugos: Barry, Rebecca, Matt, Sophia

This isn't really a story, but the thing I remember the most about Mr. Bohenko was that no matter where we were playing he was always watching us play baseball.

Please accept my deep sympathy for your loss. Though I did not know Jeff for long, I was instantly struck by what a "sweet" and brave man he was. His love for his children and family, my daughter, and Titan was clearly evident. He embraced life and touched many, including me. Love, JoAnn Baker-Alyson's Mom

My friend, mentor, sponsor and roommate. Through the countless hours you have spent with me you showed me how to live honesty, simply and humbly. I followed your lead, and you through AA showed me the way to become the person I was supposed to be. We got our families back, and what an amazing family you have! These words seem so small for all you have done for me. Jeff you will always be in my head, heart and soul eternally. Forever your friend Scott Goldsnider

Although it has been quite a long time since I last saw Jeff, I was very sorry to hear the news of his passing. I have fond memories of Jeff and the old neighborhood baseball games. I can even remember the teams; Jeff, Steve Johnson, Scott McDonald and Billy Adams one side, and myself, Billy McDonald, Joe & Jeff Scanlon on the other. Those were great memories. Goodbye Jeff, may you rest in peace.

My Dad and our whole family went to Hampton Beach the summer before my Dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer. We made the best memories possible. The one that stands out in my mind most is when Dad taught the girls how to boogie board. He was catching the waves with Ellie and Sylvie and kept telling them to be careful of the rocks because they could get hurt. Well Dad caught a big wave and was not mindful of the rocks. When he came trudging up the beach we saw his pinkie toe was now facing the wrong way. Dad popped his toe back into place and we all told him he needed to be careful of the rocks because he could get hurt!
