Obituary of Malvern LeVan
Malvern Arthur LeVan, 99, of Glastonbury, husband of the late Lila (Halsted) LeVan, died Thursday May 5, 2011at the Village at Kensington in Meriden, CT. Born February 3, 1912 in Hartford, son of the late Arthur B. and Margaret (Schweitzer) LeVan, he had lived in Glastonbury for over 50 years. Prior to his retirement he was a longtime employee of the Aetna Insurance Co. He had attended Hartford High School, was in the Connecticut National Guard from 1931 to 1935 and was the oldest living member of the First Church of Christ, Congregational in Glastonbury. He is survived by a sister Marie LeVan of Meriden and 3 nephews Christopher Schuetz, Gregory Schuetz and Jeffrey Schuetz. Funeral service will be Wednesday May 11 at 2:00pm in the First Church of Christ, Congregational, 2183 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Old Church Cemetery, Glastonbury. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Welles-Turner Memorial Library, 2407 Main St., Glastonbury, CT. 06033.
