The passing of Ed into God’s waiting arms brought great sadness to many of us. I was one of the lucky ones that had the opportunity to work with Ed for over 30 years at IBM. Many of us referred to him as “Big Ed”, not only because of his physical size, but because he had a big heart. He had a way of turning any problem into something simple to resolve. His sense of humor always took the edge off any situation. Whenever we finished working on a problem, we parted with a good feeling of accomplishment. After retirement, we still were able to share our good times at the monthly IBM lunches. He is a man I will always look up to as someone who brought many good memories into my heart. I know his family will always remember him as a Special Person who loved them in a way only he could do. I pray that with God’s help, time will heal the sadness of his passing, and that the memories of his time with us will last forever in our hearts. Charles Ranheim Glastonbury, CT
