Dear Family Rita and I offer our condolences to you all for the good life of your father and friend, Bill. How he loved his family! He was so proud of you children and your families. He carried his gifts, blessings and struggles gracefully and with gratitude. He would call me on my birthday to check up on me. I am thankful for that connection. Be assured that we hold you all in our thoughts and prayers with your own struggles and with this loss. Our love Frank and Rita

The Kaelin's were neighbors of my family for many years in Fairfield CT. I have maintained my friendship with Bill Jr. ever since. While I have many memories of Mr. Kaelin, one that stands out is the time he took Bill and I shark fishing on his boat in Southhampton, LI. We were in our teens at the time. We were a couple of miles out in the Atlantic in a 20 ft. (or so) Mako fishing boat. I was at the Helm while both Bill Sr. and Jr. were busy with the fishing gear. Suddenly, a whale surfaces right next to the boat! Needless to say, it scared the heck out of me and I wanted to turnaround and make a beeline for the shore. Mr. Kaelin calmly told me to maintain my course and I think I was more afraid of him than the whale so I did what I was told!
We never did catch any sharks that day but we caught a bunch of blues which we cooked for dinner. My love for fishing has continued to this day and all-in all it was one of the most memorable experiences from my youth thanks to the generosity of Mr. Kaelin

We had the fortune of meeting Mr. Kaelin and Ryley more than 3 years ago when he stopped by to tour our kennel as he wanted a safe and loving place to leave Ryley whenever he had to travel. We soon became fast friends and this became Ryley's second home. It was very obvious to anyone who saw Mr. Kaelin with Ryley, how much he loved him. Mr. Kaelin would always call while he was away to "check on his boy".... We feel blessed that Mr. Kaelin and Ryley crossed our path as he was a very sweet and kind gentleman. We will miss him greatly and will always remember him fondly.
Sincerely,
Mary and Stuart Blain,
Mountain View Pet Resort

My deepest sympathy and thoughts go out to all of you. "Captain Bill" as we referred to him in our book club will be missed. I was very fond of your father and grandfather and he spoke so highly of all of you. Lot's of stories. Lot's of bragging. I hope Riley is okay. Anne Clemens
