Obituary of Alphonse F. Avallone

Alphonse “Al” F. Avallone, 85, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Arlene (LeRoy) Avallone, died Friday April 24, 2015 at the Rocky Hill Veterans Health Care Center. Born February 13, 1930 in Hartford son of the late Alphonse and Theresa (Terricciano) Avallone, he had lived in Glastonbury since 1955. Prior to his retirement he was a steamfitter for Union Local #777. He was a member of the Glastonbury Volunteer Fire Department Company #3, a member of the Glastonbury Elks and the East Glastonbury Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, flying and gardening and was an avid sportsfan. He also served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Besides his wife he is survived by a son Richard T. Avallone and his wife Cynthia Riedel of Kauai, Hawaii, a daughter Bonnie J. Avallone and her husband Imre Kiss of Glastonbury, 3 grandchildren Sarah Matuza, Gabe Avallone, Emma Kiss and 2 great grandchildren Ethan and Owen Matuza. He also leaves 2 brothers Vincent Avallone of TX, John Avallone and his wife Sara of Amston, a sister Jean Avallone of FL, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Terry. A memorial service will be held Wednesday April 29 at 11am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury.
