Obituary of Donald K. Cone

Donald K. Cone, 83, of Bloomfield, beloved husband of Patricia (Sullivan) Cone, died Thursday April 9, 2015. Born February 18, 1932 in Manchester, son of the late Roy and Mata (Kempton) Cone, he had lived in Greenfield Center, NY before moving to Bloomfield four years ago. He was a graduate of Glastonbury High School and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was an avid golfer, loved bowling, and enjoyed playing cards with many friends and family. Prior to his retirement he was a computer programmer with the Service Bureau Corporation. Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Cone of New Britain, Cheryl Rusczyk and her husband Richard of New Britain, and Carol Perkins and her husband Patrick of Holden, MA, a brother David Cone and his wife Gail of East Hartford, a sister Jackie Hayden of Arizona, and six grandchildren; Alexander, Matthew, Amanda and Marissa Rusczyk, Ryan and Meagan Perkins, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Roy Cone, Jr. and William Cone and three sisters Betty Minietti, Barbara Kastner and Frances Hayden. A memorial service will be celebrated on Thursday May 14 at 11:00am in St. James Episcopal Church, 2584 Main St., Glastonbury. A private burial will be held at a convenient time for the family in Rose Hill Memorial Park. There are no calling hours.
