I worked with Bill during the 1970’s and early 80’s, and was always impressed by his good cheer and friendliness. In recent years I have often thought back on his positive outlook and fortitude when confronted by a serious health issue back in those days—I’m sure his attitude was inspiring to many who knew him.
His friends and relatives will miss his smile and warm welcomes.

To all that feel the loss of our dear departed Bill Bland,
My deepest condolences for the loss of such a warm and kind hearted man. His absence will be deeply felt and his presence sorely missed.
I worked for Bill when I was an Actuarial student at Aetna 1983/1984 and loved working for him. It's not often you can say that about a boss. Years later after leaving Aetna, I would sometimes drive by his Glastonbury home and see him outside working in the yard. Each time I would stop by and we would catch up on life. Although he has left this earth, I know he is now one of the shining stars that will fill the dark, night sky and all I have to do is look up, to see him twinkling at me. May he rest in peace.

only the best...Bill could play softball like a demon...I was a colleague in the early 70's. I treasured his company; he was a TRUE gentleman.
