Obituary of Marion Avery

Marion D Avery, 91, of Glastonbury, loving wife of the late Austin M. Avery, passed away on Sunday March 25, 2012 at Hartford Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1920 in Boston, MA to the late David C. and Dorothy (Carlson) Smith. She lived in Watertown MA before moving to Glastonbury in 1966. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, her family brought her great pride and joy over the years. Marion leaves behind two beloved sons; Roger and his wife Claire of Cumberland, RI, Bruce and his wife Veronica of Centerport, NY, six loving grandchildren; Austin, Marcus, Elizabeth and her fiancé Brian Campbell, Rachel and her husband Chris Conley all of Boston, and Kaitlyn and Zachary Bifulco of Long Island, one great grandchild Lucas Conley and a former daughter-in- law Nancy Avery of Glastonbury, CT. She enjoyed gardening and playing bridge with her friends. Marion's funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church of South Glastonbury on Main St. in South Glastonbury. She will be laid to rest at the Green cemetery in Glastonbury immediately following the service. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Mulryan Funeral Home 725 Hebron Ave. Glastonbury. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name may be made to the Congregational Church of South Glastonbury.
