Dear Cooney Family,
Several of us from the St. John Fisher Church, took a tremendous liking to your Father. We saw him often with your Mom and always thought what a distinguished couple they were.
We then saw only your Dad at church and he told us of her passing. We would then speak to him each week , finding him so 'special' and charming.
A mass was being said for your Mom one Sun. and the Deacon asked if I could identify Mr. Cooney, so he could carry the gifts at communion. I relayed the message to your Dad and asked if I could accompany him. He seemed so pleased and it was truely an honor for me.
After reading his obit, it wqs confirmed to me, how remarkable his life was. Deepest sympathy to all your family and how lucky for you all to have called him Dad and Grandpa.
