Obituary of Roger Cyr Doucette

Roger Cyr Doucette, 89, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of 67 years to Lucille (Fortin) Doucette, died Monday May 25, 2015 at the Glastonbury Health Care Center. Born Nov. 16, 1925, in Grand Isle, Maine, son of the late Leonard and Annie (Cyr) Doucette, he had lived in Glastonbury for the past 16 years. Prior to his retirement he was a machinist for Holo-Krome Inc. Roger was a member of the Franco American Veterans Association, the Catholic War Veterans and a past member of the French Social Club. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in Germany and France. Besides his wife he is survived by his three children and their spouses; Maxine & Gerald Levasseur of Glastonbury, Daniel & Denise Doucette of Mainville, OH, Paula & Gregory Boyce of East Hampton, seven grandchildren; Timothy, Kimberly, Daniel Jr., Nicole, Evan, Madison and McKenzie along with nine great grandchildren. He is survived by three sisters; Jeanette, Sister Georgianne of the Good Shepard Convent and Geraldine . He was predeceased by four brothers and seven sisters: Leo, Leonide, Alphie, Edmond, Blanche, Noella, Christine, Lena, Gilberte, Lillian and Alphena. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 29 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Peace Church, 370 May Rd., East Hartford. Burial with military honors will follow at the CT State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Thursday, May 28 from 5-8pm.
