Obituary of Gabrielle Messenger

Gabrielle “Gaby” Messenger, 96, of Enfield, Marlborough, and Glastonbury, passed away surrounded by family, Saturday September 12th at Glastonbury Health Care Center. Born January 2, 1919 in Quebec, Canada, she was raised in Hartford, CT and lived in Enfield for 58 years where her and her husband Arnold raised their family. Gabrielle was the mother of three, grandmother of 11, and Great grandmother to 21 1/2. She worked at Pratt and Whitney in the tool crib for 24 years. She was an avid bowler at Bradley bowl in Windsor locks, CT until she retired at the age of 91, after many 200 games. She is predeceased by her husband Arnold, her sisters Rita & Connie Murzyn and Hazel & Lou Vegiard, and her son in law Leo Christmas. Gaby is survived by her son Edward Messenger and his wife Mary Kay of FL and her daughters Joan Christmas and Louise Messenger of CT. She is also survived by her Canadian family, all her grandchildren, their spouses, her great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 19th, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Dunstan’s Church 1345 Manchester Road in Glastonbury with a burial following at St. Patrick’s Cemetery 1558 King Street in Enfield.
