Obituary of Rowena Turbeville

Rowena (Shorey) Chassie Turbeville, 94, of Manchester, CT., wife of the late Norman Chassie and William Turbeville, died Thursday, September 17, 2015. Born August 27, 1921 in Fort Fairfield, ME, daughter of the late Edmund and Blanche (Wright) Shorey. She had been a resident of White Oaks in Manchester for the past 10 years. Prior to her retirement she was a bookkeeper for Albatross Fertilizer in Caribou, ME. She was a past member of the BPW in Caribou, Maine. Rowena is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Norma and Paul Stefanik of Glastonbury, her grandchildren; Elizabeth Meyers, Debra Lesmeister and her husband Timothy, Gale Mowry, Carol Andrews and her partner Rick Reid, Nancy Stefanik and her fiancé Dan Lohse, Paul Stefanik, III and his wife Beth, Diane Stefanik and Jane Donahue and her husband Kevin, and eight great grandchildren. Also many nieces, nephews and friends at White Oaks Senior Living. She was predeceased by her brother Gordon Shorey and 2 sisters, Eva Olmstead and Marion Cyr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Sept. 21 at 10am in St. Dunstan Church, 1345 Manchester Rd., Glastonbury. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou, Maine on Wednesday Sept 23 at 11am. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Sunday Sept. 20 from 3-5pm.
