Obituary of Charles A. Stilp
Charles A. Stilp, 79, of Glastonbury, husband of Jeanne (Chapko) Stilp, died Thursday September 24, 2015 at The Hearth in Glastonbury. Born May 15, 1936 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, son of the late Charles A. and Kathleen (Lalley) Stilp, he had lived in Glastonbury for the past 24 years. Prior to his retirement he worked with the HVAC maintenance for The Hartford. He had served in the U.S. Navy for 8 years on the destroyer USS Harwood. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid New York Giants fan. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Andrea and Javier Paxi of Broad Brook, a sister Catherine Gillis of Denville, NJ, 2 granddaughters Jessica and Vanessa Paxi, two brothers-in-law Walter Chapko and his wife Elizabeth of Phoenix, AZ, John J. Chapko of Kingston, PA and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Sept. 28 at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury (everyone please meet at church). Burial with military honors will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Sunday Sept. 27 from 3-6pm.
