When i saw a picture of Florence's beautiful smile in the Citizen i thought it was odd that it was on the obituary page....never thinking the obvious. I will miss our chats and her warm smile, and her ever encouraging words. I am so sorry for your loss.

I had the joy of interacting with Florence as a customer of Piepers then as an employee. I enjoyed every time she came in to volunteer, bring us cookies or when she would bring Ben in. She had a heart of gold, an amazing smile and warned everyone's heart. She will be missed.

Dear Braun family,
Florence will be so missed.
I remember her kindness when I returned to teaching in 1979. She was very helpful to me.
We shared a room and the teaching of reading.
Peace and comfort to you.
Sincerely,
Gloria Santostefano (Feisthamel)

We will miss you Florence! You were always so giving and kind to our family for years, ever since my husband was a child. We'll miss chasing after the doggies, and your Gingerbread houses at Christmas. Rest in Peace with Ray.

I remember Florence as one of the matriarchs of the Reading Department when I first became a Reading Teacher in Glastonbury . Florence was a kind, gentle person who always encouraged the newcomers. When I saw her around town she continued to be a sweet person who liked to reminisce about her days at Eastbury School.

Florence was my sons reading teacher back in 1980 during his years in Eastbury School. She was the only teacher who was willing to help him during a time when learning disabilities were not recognized as they are today. I credit her with his successes today. She made him and everyone else she came in contact with feel like the most special person! I have thought of her fondly over the years! 'Love - smile - miss me but let me go' has her footprint written all over it! She was a very special person!
