Obituary of Olga Wawruck Laneri

Olga (Wawruck) Laneri, 86, of Glastonbury, wife of the late Peter R. Laneri, died Wednesday January 6, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born March 8, 1929 in Glastonbury, daughter of the late Nicholas and Margaret (Kunikewich) Wawruck, she was a lifelong resident. Olga was a 1947 graduate of Glastonbury High School. After raising her family she opened Olga’s Lingerie shop in Glastonbury. She delighted in helping people find that special something. She sold the shop after 9 years and pursued a career with Amica Insurance where she retired after 15 years of employment. After a short respite and due to her great love of children, she joined the staff of a local daycare finally retiring at age 80. She loved to take yearly trips to Florida where she enjoyed walking the beaches and shopping. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and love of family and friends. She leaves behind to celebrate her memory 3 children, Sharon Patten of Newport, RI, Kathleen Seeger and her husband Russell of South Glastonbury, Peter S. Laneri of League City, TX, a daughter-in-law Diane Partridge of Nashua, NH, a sister-in-law Cynthia Wawruck of Glastonbury, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a great great grandson and several loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 9 siblings. She spent the last 5 years at a healthcare facility in the loving care of some very special people. The family would like to send a special thank you to Sharisa, Victoria, Marcia and a wonderful friend and special nurse Amy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 12th at 10:30 in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
