Dear Tom, Susan, Sperry, Carolyn, Hayley and extended family,
We just heard of the passing of your Dad and Grandfather. We have such fond memories of seeing Sperry Sr. across the yard and his special relationship with his grandchildren who adored him. May your lifetime of memories bring you comfort during this time.
Love,
Nanette, Ken, Franky and Alex Navarro

To the Morway Family,
I first met Sperry in 1964, I was a young Ironworker and a member of Ironworkers Local Union 15. Sperry was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Local 478, I believe at that time he was setting iron for City Ironworks. During the next thirty plus years I had the opportunity to work with Sperry on most of the jobs listed in his obituary. This has provided me with enough situations and memories to last me this far in my life when Ironworkers get together to tell stories, "shanty talk" about the "big jobs" they were on. Usually these stories include Sperry, a legend in the Ironworkers Union. He knew as much about connecting iron as most of the Ironworkers he was working with. When you heard Sperry was going to be running the crane setting iron, you knew you were going to be safe and productive. If Sperry ever wanted to be an Ironworker he would have been welcomed, his Dad, Sperry Sr and his son Chris were members of Ironworkers Local 15, however selfishly we definitely wanted him running those cranes.
Sperry was a gentleman in every way. He will be missed by all and it will be a while before we see "his likes" again.
GOD Bless you Sperry.
