Steve I'll miss you for absolutely everything you were man. I am utterly numb and sick to my stomach over such a loss. You were 100% the best guy and friend anyone could ever wish to have. I'll miss when I'd call you, or you'd call me, or see me and you would say "Markyy", I'll also miss plinking air rifles in your yard, target practice with our bows way back, and riding Harley's with you Jeryl and Sandy. I'll miss the laughs... If it weren't for my sister losing her life 2/1/16 I would have been at your day. Please tell my little sister Lisa I love her so much, and Steve I love you too man. You will be so greatly missed and never forgotten. Rest in peace my dear friend.

That has held true since we met some 30 plus years ago. My heart aches for both of you and his wife and daughter. I will always remember him in the spirit of all that is good. Rest in peace old friend. ❤

To the entire family.
I was very saddened to hear the loss of such a nice gentleman, who always was smiling.
Steve was one of the good guys, who loved his family more then words could express.
His wife and daughter was always his conversation with me when coming into PaPa T's for his favorite capicola grinder. He will be deeply missed in the community. There are no words to ease the pain of your loss, but just remember he touched many people in a positive light. Please accept my deepest sympathy, you are all in my thoughts and prayers. God bless

TFC Steve Davis was my State Police Academy classmate 28 years ago (April to Sept 1988) and I had the privilege of serving with him for seven years at Troop C. Steve was a consummate professional, both in his demeanor and his spit and polish uniformed presence, and he was a tremendously positive representative of the Connecticut State Police. In recent years, I would frequently run into Steve at Troop C and know how devoted he was to his family and extraordinarily proud of his college-aged daughter. My sincerest condolences to the Davis family on the tragic loss of this great man and very solid veteran State Trooper.

I am going to miss us complaining about the cold weather, it being dark at 6pm and us counting down to the summer months. Troop C will never be the same without you and I will miss you dearly. RIP

I had the pleasure of working with Trooper Davis when he was the DARE officer at the Tolland Middle School where I was principal. Steve had such a positive, happy disposition and earned the respect of all those who came to know him. Mr. Davis was a very effective instructor and the fifth graders learned much from him, not the least of which was that police officers can be compassionate, caring people with a sense of humor. TFC Davis had an ever-present smile, wholeheartedly greeted everyone, and was one who genuinely cared about those he was serving. Steve will be missed as one of Connecticut's finest citizens and most effective police officers.

I'm so so very sorry for your loss. I knew him as Trooper Davis. He used to come hang out at my house with my dad and sit in my driveway and catch speeders, which I thought was the greatest thing ever cause we had lost a family cat to a speeding car. It's strange the memories that stick with you from when you were little. As I grew older Trooper Davis became my dare instructer, he had such an impact on me ( I may have even had a little girl crush ) but he picked my essay to win. I had never won anything but he picked me! Years passed some more and I became a police explorer in Tolland with a great group of people. He was such a role model to me and so many others. He gave so much respect to us kids and he earned our respect right back. Even though I've since moved away and have been gone for so long I feel jipped of being able to thank him and tell him goodbye. I hope you all find peace and comfort in knowing how much he was love and respected in our community. Rest easy Trooper Davis you will be so greatly missed.

Stephen was a polite and respectful man who treated everyone with decency. When he spoke to you, he spoke to you as if you were the most important person in the world. I will remember his generosity of spirit, his infectious smile, and his often uproarious laugh. As a Connecticut State Police Trooper, he was a consummate professional, and well-liked and respected by his colleagues. And though his service to the state of Connecticut was very important to him, he always maintained his primary role as a loving husband, father, son, and friend. He was a planner, and at the same time, he was not one who squandered a day in his life for a “someday.”
I will always see Stephen as a vital, passionate man who loved life. Most of all, he adored and cherished the beautiful women in his life, his wife Jeryl and their daughter Jorden.
