Obituary of Dorothy M. Sanders

Dorothy M. Sanders, 84, of Glastonbury, beloved wife of the late Robert H. Sanders, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Manchester Manor. She was born in Manchester on January 1, 1932 to the late David and Louise (Pukofky) Morrison. Dorothy graduated with honors from Manchester High School in 1949, worked as a transcriptionist for AETNA for many years and lived in Glastonbury for 63 years. She was an especially kind and gentle person who enjoyed sewing, knitting, and was an excellent cook especially known for her award-winning Irish soda bread. In prior years, Dorothy was very active in St. James Episcopal Church, Glastonbury, serving in the Altar Guild and singing in the choir. She is survived by her son Michael Sanders and his wife Susan of South Glastonbury, and their daughter, Molly Sanders of Glastonbury, her daughter Kathleen Sanders, and her daughters Brianna Trainor and Giselle Pruneau, all of Amston, her daughter, Sharon Poulin and her husband Michael, and their children Kyle Poulin and Tori Poulin, all of Glastonbury, her sister Mary Lou Morrison of Manchester, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Morrison. A funeral service will be held, Tuesday, March 29 at 10am in Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester. Calling hours will be held, Monday, March 28 from 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
