Obituary of Nickolas D. Majek, Jr.

Nickolas Donald Majek Jr. of Glastonbury died Thursday April 7, 2016 after suffering a brain injury after a fall. Born November 8, 1934 to the late Nickolas Majek Sr. and Frances Thurz. He graduated from Glastonbury High School, served in the United States Army and owned and operated a successful construction business in Glastonbury (Majek Builders) until his retirement in 2013. He was member of Glastonbury Elks Club, Moose Club and Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce. In his free time he enjoyed attending Art Shows, watching NBA and the Red Sox. Early in life he grew and sold tobacco with his family, always having a gardening passion he had a large vegetable garden that he harvested for local restaurants as well as family and friends. He was preceded by his parents Nickolas and Frances, brothers John and Benedict Majek, a sister Frances Paczkowski, his ex-wife Magdalene Carreira and daughter –in-law Bambi Jean. He is survived by his sister Genevieve Bares. His companion of 40 years Elayne Marholin, sons, Robert Majek, Nickolas Majek III, grandson Nickolas Majek, daughter Theresa and her husband Steven Cole and grandchildren Christopher and Stephanie Cole, sister in law Mabel Majek and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday April 20th at Mulryan Funeral Home 725 Hebron Ave Glastonbury 9:30 to 11:30 followed by a graveside service at St. Augustine Cemetery Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury.
