Obituary of Doris Marone Vendetta

Doris (Marone) Vendetta of Wethersfield, wife of the late Joseph Vendetta, died Saturday April 23, 2016. She was born on February 6, 1931 to Stephen and Louise (Malaspina) Marone. Doris graduated from Glastonbury High School and for many years resided in Glastonbury with her family, before moving to Wethersfield in 1970. She was married to the love of her life, Joe, for 59 years. They enjoyed a simple life with each other and their family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who is survived by her children and their spouses, Susan and Richard Pestritto of Portland, and Steven Vendetta and Judith Bankowski of Madison, and her grandchildren, Chelsea Pestritto, Karly DiBella, Jeremy Vendetta and his wife Deirdra, and Lindsay Vendetta. Besides her husband, Doris was predeceased by her daughter Doreen Vendetta, and her brothers Victor, Rocco, Anthony, and Stephen (Duffy) Marone. Doris always had fun with her grandchildren, caring for animals and puttering in the yard. Her family will miss her wisdom, candor and wit. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 27 at 10 am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury.
