Greg;
I was saddened to see that your Dad had passed. You probably wouldn't remember me but I was a college hire into Otis Elevator back in 1990. I had the extreme good fortune of being placed with Ken to learn the business from a new construction standpoint. As the construction manager your dad had a lot on his plate but went out of his way to make me feel comfortable, part of the team, and involved. It wasn't easy since the construction crews were not always "user friendly" to the new college guys!! Didn't matter, Ken made it good and became a good friend. Oh, yeah, and I learned a lot.
I'll always remember Ken as a humble, giving, and compassionate guy who you could always count on. No bullshit, just real people.
God bless Ken and Judy.

Dear Greg and Family,
I was so shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of Kenny and Judy. I have such fond memories of being at my grandfather's beach house in Lord's Point and Kenny strolling over to say hello or Judy bringing my sister and I Chinese Checkers and other games to play. I'll never forget Kenny taking me for a drive in his green MG and insisting that he buy me ice cream in Mystic before we could go back to the house.
Even after Kenny's stroke, I always enjoyed seeing your dad and mom whenever I visited the beach or at Healthtrax in Glastonbury where I would see them on occasion. I would always introduce myself to Kenny and he would stop me and say that he already knew who I was. Although Kenny's stroke was devastating his spirit, determination and will are qualities that I will never forget and hope to practice in my own life. Additionally, Judy's steadfast love and support are clear reminders of what true love is and serve as an inspiration for all.
Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Brett Champlin (Patricia (Pearson) and Rolland Champlin's son)

Greg, Your Mom was always such a sweet and kind person. Your Dad will always be remembered as a great man in my eyes. He was such a genuine gentleman that was always ready to help. He always had a positive attitude and it was always a pleasure to see him. He helped us so much back in the day, that will never be forgotten. They both have to be very proud of you. I am very sorry for your loss, your family will be in my prayers.

It is with great sorrow that Bob and I just learned of the death of Greg's dad and mom. I had the privilege of meeting them both in their Stonington beach home a couple of times when Mason and James spent summer camp weeks together at the shore. I know you all had a strong relationship with Ken and Judy and that Mason and Amelia were fortunate to have both grandparents in their lives, It is a difficult time as you adjust to life without these two special people. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

We are stunned by the news. We have known the family since the early 1950s and remember when Ken and Judy eloped when she was only 18 (as memory serves). We knew that Ken had a recent close-call, and a year ago Judy was hospitalized, but having talked to them recently were ill-prepared for this news. Our thoughts are with the family.
