Obituary of John R. Berruti
John R. Berruti, 83, of Glastonbury, husband of the late Dee (Norcross) Berruti, died Monday October 3, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. Born December 21, 1932 in Hartford, son of the late John B. and Teresa (Richards) Berruti, he was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. John was a longtime owner and operator of Berruti’s Orchards and a member of the P.O.C. He is survived by his 4 children, Cynthia Hammen and her husband David of Mims, FL, John Berruti and his wife Maureen of Glastonbury, Mary Cyr and her companion Don Lawler of East Hartford, Christine Fisher and her husband Stephen of Wilmington, DE, 10 grandchildren, Jessie and Dylan Hammen, Michael, Randy and Eric Finucane, Ernest Novey, IV and Alisha Novey, Rebecca, Sarah and Hannah Fisher. He also leaves 14 great grandchildren, Jayden, Bella and Makayla Hammen, Brody, Daniel, Serena, Aidan and Ava Finucane, Sienna, Teagan and Jaxon Jurkowski, Ernest Novey, V, and Andres Hernandez, a niece Brenda Wheeler and a grandniece Tanya Strauss and her husband Chris of East Hartford. He was predeceased by his sister Doris Wojnar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday Oct. 8 at 10am in St. Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Rd., South Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday Oct. 7 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center, c/o Fund Development Office, 80 Seymour St., P.O. Box 5037, Hartford, CT. 06102-5037.
