I am a Teacher colleague of Tiffany and have followed the progress of your church and Rev. Nancy's struggles/illness for the past 2 years. I've also listened to Colin McEnroe's journey as a parishioner and felt moved by his religious journey and calling to become a member of the church. I am a religious liberal (UUSE) and felt excluded and even persecuted by the religious conservatives, however, I love that Rev. Nancy built a congregation that could exist as a fundamental/evangelical Christian church, yet be supportive of liberal social policies. My love and prayers go out to all who loved her and her church!!!

Greg, Liza, Sarah and Family,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your dear wife and mother. I only met Nancy once but have kept up on her life over the past few years. She was an outstanding and kind human being and the world is a better place because of her. She did more in her short life than most of us ever do. Please know you are all in the thoughts and prayers of so many of us.

I first met Nancy about 10 years ago as part of a small bible group. Immediately felt this woman was very obviously in love with Christ. I watched her grow through her Divinity school days and planting her church. Watched her bravely embrace her calling and even death. For sure this angel was welcomed in heaven. May her memory live on!

Family of Nancy: no words can describe the sorrow yet joy and inspiration that Nancy 's journey and now passing causes. There couldn't have been a better witness for living out the faith yet such sadness that her time with you was cut way too short. Hoping that same faith is able to surround you and lift you up at this time. I travelled with Nancy in Up With People and even ended the year with a stay at her home. Peace Prayers and Blessings for the entire family.

Nancy Butler was one of the most beautiful, kind, inspiring women I've ever had the pleasure to work with. She was so passionate about the Riverfront Family Church, it's people and her family! She will be missed by so many, including me. I am thankful she is no longer suffering and rejoicing in heaven. My deepest sympathy, Jane Peters

Today was a day of great sadness and joy. Sadness for those of us left in the wake of a great love shared by our dear Nancy., and joy for Nancy that she has gone home to be with God. I can not begin to express the impact your wife and mother had on the my life and the lives of my children. We are all closer to God because of her presence in our lives. I hoped she would last forever, that I would grow old with her guidance, that I could bounce my questions of faith off of her forever. I will now pray so that she hears me and I will have comfort that she will guide me from above and that she is nestled safely in Gods Love. God Bless you all and may the warmth of your memories comfort you in your time of Loss. Shirley

There are many who profess to be Christians, but few who personify Christ. Nancy loved Jesus through every action in her life, and by showing people (like me) that Christianity can be loving and accepting of all God's children. This is a rare find in many Christian chuches.
I am so sorry for the world's loss of this beautiful person. My heart breaks for her family and her church family. I am honored and privileged that my son and I were once - for a short time - beneficiaries of her heart, love and grace.
Rest in peace, Pastor Nancy. No more pain for you. ❤

Dear Greg and Family of Nancy,
I can only imagine the depth of your loss. I am thankful you had the time to say goodbye and to plan and put in place a real legacy for your family and things that matter to you as a family.
Countless memories, pictures and stories will abound over the next few days, months and years to come. I am confident in the healing, comfort and peace each will bring to you.
Know you are loved and embraced by many. Many of us that you do not even know that well, all because you welcomed us in to share your journey of faith and love.
It is a love story and one well lived and well told. Thank you.

Nancy will be missed! We started Highlands Church in Denver about 6 months after Riverfront but we did not know about each other. Ah, but Nancy the researcher found out about us and reached out at a time when we didn't know there were other progressive, evangelical churches. Her initiative bolstered our confidence that this was a good, new thing God was doing. With Nancy, we've seen the addition of many such churches around the country. Nancy knew that her vision for what could happen in CT could happen across the land. And it is! Thank you, Nancy.

We pray that you all can find comfort knowing so many people share many fond memories of such a special lady.

Nancy has been a dear friend and inspiration to me ever since we first met back at Duke, when I was a new Christian. I learned so much from her and cannot thank her enough for the powerful impact her life and character have had on me throughout my life in so many situations. Her positive influence will stay with me all my days.
My prayers and sympathies go out to her family--especially Greg, Liza, and Sarah--whom she cherished so much, and the extensive list of relatives and friends who were blessed to know her and grieve her passing. May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ grant peace and comfort to all who mourn the loss of this unique woman of God.
