Obituary of Normand J. Daigle

Normand J. Daigle, 83, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Edith (Cormier) Daigle, died Saturday January 7, 2017 with his family by his side at Hartford Hospital. Born January 25, 1933 in Ste. Marie, New Brunswick, Canada, son of the late Fred and Obeline (LeBlanc) Daigle he had lived in East Hartford for the past 53years. Prior to his retirement he was a home improvement contractor. Besides his wife he is survived by his 2 children and their spouses, Joanne and Ray Halle and Ronald and Charron Daigle all of Ellington, 3 brothers Coral, Joffe and Donald Daigle and a sister Alfreda Collette all of New Brunswick, 3 grandchildren Ray Halle (Mary), Nicole Hakim (Christian) and Melissa Halle and 4 great grandchildren Joanna, Madeline, Genevieve and Andrew. He was predeceased by a son Dennis Daigle, a brother Jean Daigle and a sister Valda Bourque. Normand proudly served in the U.S.Army; he enjoyed a good cup of coffee chatting with his longtime friends, his summers spent in New Brunswick tending his garden, a good joke, and most of all the love of family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday Jan. 12 at 11am in St. Christopher Church, 530 Brewer St., East Hartford (everyone please meet directly at church). Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Wednesday Jan 11 from 4-7pm.
