Obituary of Peter T. Ashe
Peter T. Ashe, 77, of East Hartford, CT beloved husband of Eleanor (Connors) Ashe, died peacefully Sunday January 22, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. Born November 15, 1939 in Inch, County Kerry, Ireland, he first moved to England then came to the United States in 1963. He has been a resident of East Hartford for the past 50 years. Prior to his retirement he was a Cable Repair Technician for Southern New England Telephone for 32 years. Peter was also a proud member of the East Hartford St. Patrick Parade committee, the Irish American Home Society, the Army-Navy Club and the Telephone Pioneers. He had proudly served in the CT National Guard for six years. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Peter M. Ashe of East Hartford, Steven W. Ashe and his wife Laura of Colchester, Brendan J. Ashe of East Hartford, two grandchildren Megan and Katelyn Ashe, a brother John Ashe and his wife Mary Ellen of Newington, a sister Norah Ashe Lusignan of Westfield, MA a brother-in-law John Foran of Hamden and several nieces, nephews and cousins in the US and Ireland. He was predeceased by a brother-in-law Leo Lusignan of Westfield, MA. The family would like to thank his aides Andrea, Bobby, Mabel, Michelle, Susan, Kate, Ann Marie and his nurse Trish for all their care and compassion shown to Peter during his illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday Jan. 27 at 10:30am at our Lady of Peace Church, East Hartford (everyone please meet at church). Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury, CT. There are no calling hours.
