Obituary of Lena Garneau Millis
Lena Yvonne Millis, 86 of East Hartford returned to her heavenly home on March 28, 2017 while surrounded by her loved ones at home. Born in Berlin, NH on December 4, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Adelard and Laura Garneau. Lena loved reading, sewing, and cooking meals for her family. She was a very talented artist. She maintained a lifelong close relationship with God, and would often be heard saying "When in doubt--ask the Lord." She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband James after nearly 62 years of blissful marriage. She is also survived by her three children, Laura-Lee Turnquist and her husband Dave of Aurora, CO, Nancy Brenner and her husband Greg of Tolland, CT, Jim Millis Jr and his wife Kara of Watertown, CT. Lena was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Kimberly. She will be dearly missed by her seven grandchildren, David, Christopher, Matthew, Stephen, Heather, Daniel and Rachel and three great grandchildren Katelyn, Henry and Skylar. She leaves one sister, Sister Rita Garneau of the Sisters of Mercy. She was predeceased by her four siblings Lydia Galipeau, Diane Lettre, Conrad Garneau and Raymond Garneau.
