Obituary of Leverett A. Weir
Leverett A. Weir “Dade”, 75, of Glastonbury, husband of Carol (Uber) Weir, died Friday June 2, 2017 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born October 1, 1941 in Hartford, son of the late Dwight and Frances (Way) Weir, he was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. Prior to his retirement he was employed for Mal Tool & Engineering. Dade was a 45 year member of the Glastonbury Fire Department Company #4, a huge UCONN Women’s basketball fan, an avid golfer, loved his trips to Aruba, and had served in the US Navy. Besides his wife he is survived by his 2 daughters, Cynthia J. Miller of FL, Lynne M. Stephenson of Colchester, 2 brothers and their wives, Dwight and Doris Weir of NJ, Frank and Barbara Weir of NC, a grandson Christopher Stephenson of Colchester, a step-son Eric S. Hoye of PA, a step-daughter Rachel L. Tepper of Southington, 2 step grandchildren Jessica and Tanya Tepper and a step great grandson Camden Kulak and several nieces and nephews. Dade was predeceased by his first wife Donna Weir and a brother Lee Weir. Funeral service will be Tuesday June 6 at 11am in the Glastonbury United Methodist Church, 508 Manchester Rd., East Glastonbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Neipsic Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Monday June 5 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Buckingham Volunteer Fire Dept., c/o Michael Kravontka, 21 Hope Lane, Glastonbury, CT. 06033.
