Obituary of Olga Shea

On July 13, 2012, Olga D. Sanderson Shea of Naples, Florida and Glastonbury, Connecticut, daughter of Luigi and Rosa (Ciervo) D'angelo, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, with family at her side. Olga was born in Moiano, Italy and came to the U.S. as an infant where she grew up in Southington and New Britain, CT. She spent her adult life living in East Hartford, Torrington and Glastonbury, CT. She was predeceased by her first husband, Robert E. Sanderson of East Hartford, her second husband, John Shea of New Hartford, a brother, Robert D'angelo of New Britain, a sister, Julia Miller of New Britain and two very close friends, Jim Balfe of Ellington and Richard Nietupski of Bristol. She is survived by two sons, Guy L. Sanderson, his wife, Cae of Naples, FL and Robert B. Sanderson and his wife, Patricia of South Windsor. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Michael Sanderson, Kathy Gottlieb, Robert L. Sanderson, Karen Sanderson and Kristin Sanderson. She also leaves her sister, Josephine Fuoco of Newington, her brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Adeline D'angelo of Kensington , a sister-in-law, Joan D'angelo of New Britain and 5 great-grandchildren, Tori, Jackie, Clay, Andrew and Saige Sanderson as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She began her career in the '50s as one of the early working moms with such companies as Sears Roebuck and G. Fox & Co. She later went to work for and retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Community Nursing. Olga truly enjoyed her social life. Her friends, dancing, singing, shopping, traveling and socializing were all priorities for her. She will be remembered by all for her enthusiasm and energy in everything she did. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 19 at 11am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Hartford.
