Obituary of Marion A. Kristoff

Marion A. Kristoff, 88, passed away at home in Glastonbury on Saturday July 8, 2017 after a long illness. She was born May 14, 1929 in Broad Brook, Connecticut to Albert and Anna (Hesse) Ulitsch. As a young woman, Marion worked in the tobacco fields in the Connecticut river valley. She enjoyed going to dances where she met her future husband Francis J. Kristoff. They were married September 6, 1950 and made their home in Glastonbury on the family farm. They were married for 53 years until his death in 2003. Together with Francis, Marion enjoyed going to agricultural fairs, in particular the Fryeburg Fair in Maine where they vacationed for 32 straight years. Marion was a hardworking woman who loved taking care of her family and doing things for others. She did her part to support the family farm as well as worked at the Greyledge Turkey Farm. She liked to sew, knit, crochet and spent many hours canning or freezing the fruits and vegetables from family garden. She and Francis were active members of the John Tom Hill Community Club and New England Ox Teamsters Association. Marion is survived by four sons, Kenneth and his wife Susan of Granville, NY, Albert, Francis Jr., and Peter Kristoff of Glastonbury and three grandchildren, James of Maine; Nathan and Rachel Kristoff of New York. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson Shawn Kristoff in 2012. At Marion’s request there will be no calling hours or service.
