Obituary of Allison Elrod

Allison Elrod, widow of Professor Harold G. Elrod, and long-time resident of Pleasantville, NY and Old Saybrook, CT, passed away in Glastonbury, CT on July 26, 2012. She was born Ruth Allison Starr at Starr's Point in Port Williams, Nova Scotia in 1919. Allison graduated from Lasell College and Pace University. She served on the Board of the Old Saybrook Historical Society and as a docent at the General William Hart House and catalogued its library collection. She also was a member of PEO. Allison loved to paint, play bridge, and stay connected with their family and many friends, both here and abroad. She will be greatly missed by the family she loved so deeply, including her three children and their spouses, Joanne and David Williams of Glastonbury, CT, Carolyn Taylor of Thornwood, NY, Dr. Terry and Elaine Elrod of Edmonton, Alberta, six grandchildren, Jennifer Latham, Kimberly Peterson, Jonathan Layburn, Jamie Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Virginia Smith, six great-grandchildren, and long-time friend Harold 'Rod' Conyers of Montreal. A graveside service will be held in Littleton, MA at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Old Saybrook Historical Society.
