Obituary of Dennis M. Burke

Dennis M. Burke, 67, of Glastonbury, husband of Sharon Devine Burke, died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Manchester Memorial Hospital. Born June 12, 1950 in Buffalo, NY, son of the late Robert and Anne Ranallo Burke, he had lived in Glastonbury for the past 40 years. He was owner and CEO of American Electro Products in Waterbury, CT and a graduate of both Boston College and the University of Hartford. Dennis was a lifelong musician and appreciator of the arts, which he passed on to both of his children and shared generously with his friends, family, and grandchildren. He loved being outside and by the beach, especially at his favorite place to go with his family: Martha’s Vineyard. Besides his wife, he is survived by his 2 children and their spouses: Michael and Jennifer Burke of Somerville, MA, Jessica and Brett Walsh of Plymouth, MA, 6 siblings, Robert Burke, Jr. of Killington, VT, William Burke of Middletown, Richard Burke of New York City, Leonard Burke of Farmington, Maureen Pollard of Harwich, MA, Margaret Hall of Unionville, and 2 grandchildren, Kayla and Jack Walsh. He was predeceased by a sister, Kathleen Jarret. Funeral service will be Saturday Feb. 24 at 11am in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday Feb. 23 from 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Granite Academy, where his daughter Jessica works, located at 6 Columbian St., Braintree, MA 02184 ­- a therapeutic alternative school for students with social/emotional and academic disabilities to build a brand-new science lab for the kids.
