SSG Porzio was one of my first NCOs, as a brand new lieutenant. He was the best... Always looking out for me and the Soldiers in the platoon. He always had a smile on his face and a can do attitude. He was the guy I could depend on to get things done. I'm sad to hear this news. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He touched many lives and will be missed greatly.

Nothing but pleasant memories of Jeff from our time in Germany and his dedicated service with me in Afghanistan as my lead NCO medic in the Kunduz BAS. My heart goes out to his wife and daughter in their loss.

This guy always had the ability to brighten up a situation. He was a leader and I truly believe that the Army is better because of him. From the training of new soldier on becoming first responders to showing us old folks how to better manage ourselves. Great memories that wont be forgotten.

I am so sorry to hear of this tragic loss. Jeff was kind, loving and one of the most selfless people I had a chance to meet. From the day I met him at Eastbury School I knew I could always call him a friend. Unfortunately we had lost touch over the years. But I thought of him often. I'm so sorry to your family Jeff, your wife and baby girl. Please accept my deepest condolences and I hope you may find peace during this time.

To all of the Porzio families, words cannot describe the hurt we feel. Jeff was one of the bravest men we know, always ready to help an that grin he always gave would make anyone laugh. You could always see how much he loved his whole family, especially Annett an his beautiful daughter Aaliyah. RIP Jeff you will not be forgotten! Jim an Juanita

My deepest sympathy to all of you. I was Aaliyah’s 4th grade teacher last year so I met Jeff on several occasions. He was always very respectful, friendly and always smiling just like Aaliyah. He wanted nothing but the best for her and was willing to do whatever it took to help her succeed.
