How dismayed I was to read Mary's obituary in The Glastonbury Citizen. Mary was one of the first people I met at the Low Vision group at the Senior Center. She was a delight to speak with at the meetings, she was exceptional to sit with on a bus trip. The two things I will always remember....her hats (gosh, she wore them so well. Stylish and SO Mary)....and her love of her family. Every story she told included statements about her incredible fondness for her daughter, her son-in-law and her grandchildren. I almost felt like I knew you all. I suspect she had a good life. I know you all made it very rich for her, as she was able to live in her apartment just above you. I know for sure that I hope your lives are much better for her having been such an important part of it. I hope you treasure that. And I hope you keep not only some great memories of Mary, but some article of furniture or clothing...or a hat...to keep her with you always. Oh, yes, her kitty, too.
I am sorry she is gone from our lives, but I know she taught me much.
