Prayers and condolences to Danny and the entire Fitzpatrick family. Dan was a true gentleman, had an infectious smile and dry sense of humor. Always enjoyed seeing him around town and our conversations.
Dan will be truly missed by all.

A hero has passed
There are probably few in Glastonbury that would remember Dan Fitzpatrick's contribution to youth sports. As a member of GBA, I remember his hard work that resulted in the establishment of the Glastonbury Basketball Association. GBA continues today with Dan's important principle notion that it provides the opportunity for all to play and enjoy recreational basketball.
Back in 1990, when the concept of building what is now Richard H. Ross Field, Dan and his company, Spectra-Lume responded by donating, yes, donating, the field and parking lights creating what was then one of the few lighted Little League fields in Connecticut. The field and it's lights have created indelible, exciting childhood memories for thousands of Glastonbury youngsters
Thank You Dan, rest in peace, your light still shines

Dan was a wonderful friend and neighbor; always wearing a smile! He and Bill shared a special relationship. We will always remember our wonderful times together.
If there is a silver lining, it is that he and Marge are together now and in peace.
With love and prayers to all the family.

So sorry for your loss, but are glad Marge and Dan are at least together. They were such sweet neighbors and friends to us and we will miss talking to them on the beach at the Cape. Our deepest condolences.

Sending prayers and condolences to the Fitzpatrick family. Dan was a mentor to me early in my lighting career, patiently (sometimes) explaining how lighting agencies worked and what was expected from a manufacturer in terms of great service. In between project discussions, he would share proud updates of Megan's college athletic accomplishments. I am so thankful that an industry leader (legend) gave his time to educate and coach me - and I will continue to pay that forward.
I know there are countless in the lighting world who owe you a debt of gratitude -Thanks so much, Dan, from Jane White.

Our sincere condolences to the Fitzpatrick family. We remember Dan as a very smart and insightful lighting guy. To some, he might have seemed intimidating, but we always looked forward to presenting new products to him. If a product passed the Danny Fitzpatrick test it had a good chance of success. We have fond memories of working with this very special man. - Bill & Cheryl (Fraga) Gendron

What can I say? I’m going to miss Dan (Mr. Fitzpatrick!) so much. I considered him my second Dad, and felt so welcomed into his home, such a warm and loving place. His humor made me smile on my saddest day, and I loved spending time with him, Marge, Maura, Danny and Megan. The Fitzpatrick’s generously accepted my presence in their home be it on Candlelight Dr (“The Valley’s Country Club”) or at the beach on the Cape. I have so many fond memories over so many years. I love you guys. Thank you for sharing your parents with me. Lisa O’Keefe

My Sincere condolences are with Daniels family. Dan met me when I was just 20 years old and I joined the lighting company Dan would come to own years later.
Dan was a great teacher and mentor to me for more than 18 years. He was the BEST in the business , thought me so much, and was a wonderful family man.

The entire Welch gang sends our love and prayers to all you. Mr. Fitz was such a great leader and mentor for us growing up. So many of us benefited from playing in the GBA. He did his best to keep Dan and I on the straight and narrow. I always enjoyed his quick wit and sense of humor.... and regrettably, he always beat Dan and I in “two on one wrestling”. His scissor leg hold was killer. May he Rest In Peace with his his beautiful bride, who was like a second mother to me as well. All were so blessed to have them both for as long as we did.

I consider Dan to have been one of, if not my best friend, in this world. His pungent view of life and business led to a continuum of sharp discourse about what matters and how to conduct oneself with honor and integrity. He taught me to have a deep appreciation for my friends and my customers. His love of his family set a lofty guide on how to be a father and a husband. If only I could have kept up with him.
Although he could be crusty, a trait I always enjoyed, his love for his friends and family was deep indeed. His views on lighting and how to treat a customer taught me more than anyone else to always have empathy and fairness. Dan and Marge raised a family of solid, loving children with the highest level of integrity.
Dan, I appreciate knowing you. You made me a better man. I plan on seeing you again somewhere somehow.
May you have the rest you have earned well.
God bless.
Love,
Charles Darnell
