I was very sadden to hear of Ernie's passing. Before I move to Los Angeles, Ernie used to bring his computer to my home in Glastonbury for me to tune it up. We both enjoyed the conversations we also took part in. Thank you Ernie.

We were saddened to hear of Ernie's passing. Paul recalled fond memories of Ernie and held him not only as a valued coworker; but, as a friend. I (Paul's wife) had the pleasure of meeting Ernie & Gail at one of the Christmas parties years ago. Ernie was so warm. He hugged me and I remember him as a warm teddy bear. We remember him warmly and hold him dearly. We hope that his memory brings his family love, laughter, and warmth. I truly believe that our loved ones that have gone before watch over us and wait for us when it is our time. God Bless you and God Speed.
Our Warmest Regards,
Paul and Jo Anne Schweiger

Many condolences to Gail and all of Ernie's family.
I worked and traveled with Ernie for many years as he represented Pratt and Whitney and I represented Boeing at many noise regulatory meeting all over the world. I was with him when he got his pocket picked in Paris and when he was so proud of himself for eating fish (salmon) in Seattle. We could never get him to eat fish anywhere else in the word. I am sorry I missed his adventure in the Bonn when he, Horst Hehman and Norris Haight were thrown off the train for traveling in the first class train cars on tickets meant for companion dogs. I loved listening to Ernie and Horst in Germany arguing about what German words meant.
He was a great and steady representative of P&WA and of the aircraft industry as a whole. I added a picxture of him at a meeting in Montreal during 2004. I wished I could find that picrue with the four of us, plus Mike Smith on the mechanical bull at Billy Bobs in Fort Worth, Texas. He had a very unique and fun sense of humor and will be missed dearly.

Friend & neighbor for almost 40 years. If Ernie was out working in the yard, which was often, and I was either going or coming from my regular walk routine, we would often stop and talk. Ernie was meticulous in taking care of his house and property. I tried to do the same, but it was never as good as what Ernie did.
More recently, we met at a local support group and compared notes, diagnosis and treatment options.
A true gentleman and a great neighbor, he will certainly be missed.

I worked with Ernie at Pratt & Whitney during the 1990s and early 2000s on noise regulatory issues impacting JT8D and JT9D powered aircraft. I worked in Marketing to assess the impact to Pratt & Whitney. Ernie taught me everything I know about airplane and engine noise as well as all the regulatory aspects. He explained things in a calm procedural manner which was really reassuring. I can recall getting advice and working with Ernie from ’98 – ’01 to help influence the outcome for a new international airplane noise regulation. He would attend the technical environmental meetings and I would be attending the economic and forecasting group meetings and we often talked during those 3 years. I also recall accompanying Ernie on a few trips to Washington DC and Montreal to discuss noise regulatory affairs. The trips to Montreal all seemed to be during the two coldest weeks of January. He was a pleasure to work with. My condolences.

Ernie worked for me during my time as manager of the Acoustics group at Pratt&Whitney 1999-2003. He taught me everything I know about regulatory aspects of aircraft noise. Ernie and I had the same service anniversary, and I recall sitting at the same table with Gail and Ernie at the 25-yr service anniversary dinner, a great time. Ernie was a pleasure to work with, not only very knowledgeable but also a calm and congenial personality. My condolences
