Obituary of Steven C. Wright

Steven Charles Wright 1943 - 2021 . Steven Charles Wright, of Guilford, the husband of Susan Griffin Wright died March 20, 2021 from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrigs disease. He was born in Waterbury, CT on August 10, 1943 to Wilhelmina and Joseph A. Wright. He was the youngest of four boys and predeceased by siblings Joseph, Richard, and Robert. Steve grew up in Waterbury and attended the Hartt School of Music in pursuit of becoming a conductor before attending Waterbury Technical College where he received an associates degree in Computer Science. He then went on to work at SNET (Southern New England Telephone) as a Computer Programmer Analyst for 28 years. There, he met his wife of 38 years Susan Griffin Wright. Together, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. His hobbies included tending to his many beautiful gardens and houseplants, woodworking, home improvements and solving any problem that came his way. Diagnosed with ALS in May, 2020, he fought to continue doing the things he loved and was a strong spirit trapped in a body that failed him. Steven is survived by his wife, two daughters, Pamela Soisson (Thomas), Robin Norman (Arthur); four grandchildren, Tasha Treloar (Nick), Kara Treloar (Rocco), Connor Soisson, Claire Soisson; and one great grandchild, Jayden Treloar. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family may be received Friday, March 26 from 5-7p.m., at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave. Glastonbury. A private service will be held for close family.
