I went a long time without seeing Mimi. Every memory that I have of her is always fun and loving. I’m so grateful that I got to spend that eve in March with Mimi Kata and Sarah. We laughed so hard. I promised myself I would never go so long without seeing her again, then covid hit a week later. I am so sad that I did not get to spend more time with her after that. She was a pure joy. But she is an angel now. I’m sure that she is laughing away and enjoying the company. She’s drinking wine and enjoying a bowl of spaghetti! All the carbs she wants.

Mr. Russo, Carla and Kathy and families, Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your wife and mother. She was a very special person and we all had a lot of fun back in the day. May memories and grief have their way until all that is left is a song of thanksgiving.

Although COVID robbed her of snuggle time, her heart was full because she got to meet and hold her great grandson. He was the bright light for her during quarantine.

My mom loved you all so much. Her trips to visit you in Italy were so memorable to her. She loved that technology allowed you to video chat frequently and stay in close touch. We will truly miss her and her sparkle. Family here and in Italy will never be the same. Love you all.

My sister -in-law Amy was such a special woman to me. Back in the 50's when she first dated my brother, she was very accepting of me as a 10 yr. old kid sister to Karl. I remember her care and genuine smile. When they married they lived above us and being a hairdresser at the time, she would do my hair everyday before school. That was some early morning chore she graciously did. It is no wonder when I married in 1990 that she was my maid of honor. A true sister to me always! I will miss Mimi alot but she will be in our hearts forever! God's speed Mimi!! Love, Loie

Amy was such a special woman. We knew her for years from Forbidden City. She was always happy, kind and had a zest for life. I know she loved to travel and told us often about her experiences. We were lucky to have known her. Such a bright light in the world.

A few years ago just before Covid hit I went to visit my Aunt and Uncle for lunch after not having seen them in awhile. It was like I had just seen them it was so comfortable and my Aunt was in full on hostess mode and anyone whose been there knows the drill. Wine, flowers, and a table that is impeccably decorated. People are right, she can out do Martha Stewart. Before I came down I had spoken on the phone with her and during that she asked what I liked to eat. I told her I was Vegan and waited for the inevitable groan or "what's a vegan" comment that I get from most other people. She just said "ok". When I arrived as soon as I stepped inside the house I could smell her cooking. I've never seen my Aunt that excited about cooking a meal. She was showing me all these great vegan recipes she found and she literally cooked all of them. My Uncle and I along with my second cousin Sarah who I had never met plodded through a 5 course lunch. I told her before she passed that she had made me feel so special that day, and was so happy she had my cousin come over so I could meet her and also that no one has ever cooked a meal or gone out of their way for me like that. That's the memory of her I will cherish. Well that and her getting me drunk that day. My condolences go out to my Uncle Karl, and my cousins Carla and Kathy along with their families and everyone else whose hearts my Aunt Amy touched. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Mimi was about as grandma as you can get. She could cook anything your imagination could come up with, traveled across the planet with a story to tell from every place, and loved everyone who crossed her path. She always wanted the best for me, loved me when I didn’t know how to love myself, and never gave up on me even through my darkest days. I will never forget her.
