Truly a life well lived, with grace, dignity, compassion and love. You will be missed. Thankful for the memorable Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays that we celebrated. Your smile and stories were delightful. We also loved camping on your family island. No need for electricity, we had a fire to light the sky and create our own special memories. Go now dear heart, Aileen and your family will be there with welcoming arms on this final journey. You were greatly loved...

My deepest condolences on the passing of your father Justin Joseph Natale. He was a cousin of my mother, Isabel Downing (Natale), who is now 91 years old and still lives in Portland. Her father Dominic was Nicola's brother. Your obituary sounds just like a Natale. I especially liked where you wrote that he enjoyed crisp apples that were wind-fallen from an abandoned apple tree. And that he was a kind and generous man, who passed on to his children the importance of sharing with those less fortunate. It really is the family ethos and tradition of the Natales' to be kind, caring and giving to others. Also, Iiked reading that he continued doing work around his house until he was in his 90's. My mother can still walk at least a half mile, as long as we are with her. Although I never met your father, I remember meeting Nahama, Christina and Maria. I don't think I've ever met Vinzella or Ileana. My mother remembers them all and we have a photo of Dominic and Nick boxing together.
Again, my sympathies to you and your family,
Marjorie Rode (Downing)

George,
I am so sorry to hear of your father’s passing.
Justin was so kind and gracious. There were two especially thoughtful gifts that your father gave me. The first was a mounted partridge that hung in my living room for years until Danny Boy “retrieved” it one day while I was at work. The second was a walking stick, made by Charlie Gladding and given to your grandmother so many years ago.
Every year when we met, Justin would tell me stories of growing up in Cotton Hollow, the family’s market, the frog pond between our houses and partridge hunting with my father.
I hope it is okay, I added a couple of pictures of Justin that Ileana had given me. I think it captures the essence of your father at two different points in his life.
Justin and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers always.

Jane, George and families. My sincere condolences in the passing of your dad. I remember frequently seeing him and your mom, Aileen, over the years from a teenager to adult. I recall both of your parents always being friendly and caring people. Many times while growing up I would hear Aileen singing and humming while hanging laundry.it always made me smile. Your father adored your mom and it was obvious to everyone they were a very happy couple. I lived next door with my dad, Al Dean, and he and your parents were lifelong friends. They are two of the nicest people I ever knew. My heart goes out to all your family.

Thank you so much for this message. I am Justin and Aileen’s son, George, but have gone by the name Justin. For the past 42 years, my sister and I remember the singing of the clothes line and remember your parents well. They were very nice people. We are going to have a celebration of his life in July. Please give us your phone number and we will be in touch.
