Mrs. Labb, for a good part of my adolescence into early adulthood I felt like there were many doors that were closed. And if it wasn't for the generosity and kindness of the very few people like yourself, all that was wrong might never have been okay. I wish everyone had more time together, and I'm thinking about you, Mr. Labb, and all the boys. Thanks for coming into my life Mrs. Labb, I will never forget your gestures of goodwill.

Barbara was a mentor to me my first year as president of the East Hartford Garden Club. As a past president, she had wisdom, insight and advice that really helped me. Her hard work and plant knowledge also helped make our plant sales the success that they've been. She was also funny and fun. I miss her.
