Obituary of Barbara Labb

Barbara Ann Labb, known as "Barbie" only to her loving husband, passed away peacefully in her home Monday March 18th. Born on February 15th 1947, daughter of the late George and Mary Bader. Barbara is survived by her husband David, her three sons Ryan, Brent, and Evan, and Evan's girlfriend Courtney. She is also survived by her brother George and her sister-in-law Janet. Barbara grew up in East Hartford, Connecticut but lived most of her days with her family in Glastonbury, Connecticut. Barbara was a member of the first graduating class at East Catholic High School in 1965, and attended the University of Hartford. Barbara was a lover of all animals including her three cats Grady, Oliver, and, Gracy, along with her mini poodle Jackie. In the past, Barbara and David had cared for goats, chickens and rabbits. All were treated as members of the family. Barbara was a strong women who survived Cancer three times, and possessed an unrivaled will and passion for life. She enjoyed tennis, piano, knitting, Nascar, car shows, Street rodding, UConn basketball, Green Mores, raising Champion show dogs, cooking her famous recipes, and spending time at home with her loving family. As a master gardener, she acted as President of both Glastonbury and East Hartford Garden Clubs for several years. From March through October, sunrise to sunset, she would be found in one of her many gardens with a Coke bottle in hand and a cat by her side. She grew the most beautiful gardens, many of which were featured in the Glastonbury Citizen through the years. Barbara was proud of the beautiful home that she designed, which she decorated for every holiday, organized thoroughly, and kept in tip top shape with her incredible handyman skills. There wasn't a thing she couldn't fix, and there wasn't a corner of the house that didn't have a holiday decoration. She will be dearly missed by the many who love her.
